Community Guidelines
Effective date: June 17, 2026
Godveo is a place to share live and recorded video with real people. Everyone here deserves to feel safe. These guidelines explain what we expect from you, what kinds of content we won't allow, and how we act when something is reported.
If you see something that breaks these guidelines, report it — tap the three-dot menu on any video or profile, or the flag icon on any comment. We aim to review reports of serious violations within 24 hours.
What we don't allow
Everything below applies to videos, live streams, comments, replies, usernames, display names, avatars, bios, and any other content you post. The categories match the reasons you'll see in the in-app Report sheet.
1. Spam and deceptive behavior
- Repetitive, off-topic, or commercial spam in comments or video descriptions.
- Coordinated inauthentic activity (e.g., farms of fake accounts boosting engagement).
- Misleading metadata — thumbnails, titles, or descriptions designed to trick people into watching.
- Engagement-baiting and reposting other people's content without meaningful original contribution.
2. Harassment and bullying
- Targeted attacks based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, or veteran status.
- Threats, doxxing (sharing private information without consent), or coordinated pile-ons.
- Repeated unwanted contact after the recipient has asked you to stop.
3. Nudity, sexual content, and content involving minors
- Sexually explicit material.
- Sexual content involving anyone under 18, including animated or simulated depictions — this results in immediate, permanent removal and is reported to the appropriate authorities.
- Non-consensual intimate imagery ("revenge porn").
4. Violence and graphic content
- Real-world violence, gore, or animal cruelty depicted to shock or entertain.
- Promoting or glorifying terrorism, mass shootings, or other organized violence.
- Content that promotes self-harm or suicide.
5. Illegal activity
- Sale of regulated goods (firearms, drugs, prescription medications, etc.) through the Service.
- Fraud, scams, phishing, malware, or instructions for committing crimes.
- Trafficking in stolen credentials or pirated material.
- Intellectual property theft (use the DMCA process for copyright complaints).
6. Self-harm and suicide
- Content that promotes, glorifies, or provides instructions for self-harm or suicide.
- Content that mocks people who have died by suicide or experienced self-harm.
- Conversations about mental health and recovery are welcome — we draw the line at content that could plausibly encourage someone in crisis to hurt themselves.
If you or someone you know is in crisis, please contact a local emergency line or the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (US, call or text 988). International users can find a directory at https://findahelpline.com.
7. Misinformation
- Demonstrably false content presented as fact that could cause real-world harm (e.g., medical misinformation that could deter people from medical care, election-process falsehoods).
- Manipulated media that misrepresents real people doing or saying things they didn't.
How we enforce these guidelines
Enforcement is a ladder. The action we take depends on the severity and history of the violation:
| Step | When we use it | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Warning | First-time minor violation. | We notify you in-app and remove the offending content. |
| Hide | Reported content under review. | Content is hidden from feeds until our review completes. |
| Remove | Confirmed violation. | Content is permanently removed. |
| Strike | Repeated or serious violation. | A strike is added to your account. Three strikes within 90 days = temporary suspension. |
| Suspension | Three strikes, severe single violation, or evasion of prior enforcement. | Account suspended for 7–30 days. |
| Ban | Sexual content involving minors, doxxing, coordinated harm, credible threats of violence, or repeated suspensions. | Account is permanently terminated and the user is banned from creating new accounts. |
For the most severe categories — sexual content involving minors, credible threats of violence, terrorism content — we skip the ladder and act immediately, and we report to the appropriate authorities.
How we handle reports
When you report something:
- You stay anonymous to the reported user. They will never see who reported them.
- A moderator reviews the report against these guidelines. Our target turnaround for serious reports is 24 hours. For lower-severity reports, up to 72 hours.
- We take action or close the report. If we act, the content is removed or hidden and we notify the uploader of the reason and which strike step applies. If we decide the content is within our guidelines, we close the report and the content stays up.
- We don't share details of our enforcement decisions with reporters by default, to protect users' privacy. If you reported something and it's still up, that usually means we decided it was within our guidelines.
We may take action without a report if we discover violations independently.
Appeals
If we remove your content or take action on your account and you believe it was a mistake, email support@godveo.com within 30 days of the action. Include your username, the date of the action, and your reasoning. A different moderator will review and respond within 7 days.
Blocking
Separately from reporting, you can block any user from their profile or any of their videos. Blocking removes their videos, profile, and comments from your view. Blocking is one-way — they aren't notified, but they also won't see your content if they try to look you up. Manage your blocked list at Settings → Privacy → Blocked users.
A note on context and good faith
These guidelines are written for clarity, not as a substitute for judgment. Context matters. Educational content about violence, harm-reduction discussions, news reporting, satire, and artistic expression all touch on sensitive topics without violating these guidelines.
If something doesn't feel right but isn't clearly covered above, report it. We'd rather see a borderline report and decide it's fine than miss something we shouldn't have allowed.
Changes
We may update these guidelines as we learn from how people use Godveo. We'll update the "Effective date" at the top whenever we make material changes.
